What happens when a decorated detective is punished for seeking the truth?
This Tuesday, Manitoba Stronger Together welcomes Donald Best, a retired Toronto Police Detective with over 45 years of investigative and law enforcement experience. Mr. Best is internationally recognized for his work in anti-corruption investigations and undercover operations, and in recent years has become a fierce independent voice exposing corruption within Canada’s police and legal institutions.
Best's stunning 2024 testimony at the National Citizens Inquiry shook the room. With clarity and courage, he laid bare the details of the ongoing case of Detective Helen Grus — the Ottawa Police officer charged with discreditable conduct for initiating an internal investigation into a cluster of unexplained infant deaths and their possible connection to COVID-19 vaccine status.
Rather than receiving support for pursuing legitimate criminal leads, Grus was suspended, wiretapped, ostracized, and professionally sanctioned. According to Mr. Best, this case is “the most important law enforcement case in Canadian history in over 100 years.” Why? Because it reveals the profound pressure on police to ignore vaccine-related harms, and the disturbing decline of autonomy and courage in modern Canadian policing.
Mr. Best will be interviewed live by Ken Drysdale, former Chair of the National Citizens Inquiry, for an eye-opening discussion on:
The current status of the Helen Grus tribunal
The transformation of policing in Canada from public service to political enforcement
Why rank-and-file officers are surrendering their independence
What this means for every Canadian’s right to be protected and heard
Mark your calendar. Invite your friends. Bring your questions. This is one of the most raw, intelligent, and inspiring interviews we’ve ever hosted.
“If the people of Canada can’t trust their police, can’t trust their courts, can’t trust their doctors—and now they find out their money isn’t even safe in the bank… what’s the inevitable outcome of that?” — Commissioner Ken Drysdale, NCI Regina 2024
As always, the guest presentation will be recorded and made available afterward. But if you want to experience it live — with the energy, the questions, and the community — join us Tuesday night.

This Weeks News (5 Min)
#1 News of Week
On 16 September 2022, Belfield was sentenced to five and a half years in prison for four counts of online stalking. The case brought against Belfield was by two state organisations: the BBC and Nottinghamshire Police. In the first 5 minutes of his comeback show, Belfield uses wit and humour to get his message across: The establishment is working to keep certain individuals, which Belfield jokingly calls “nonsensers,” off the streets, ensuring public safety by locking up people deemed a risk, including those who speak out against the establishment with a 0.17% risk to the public.
The police were harassing Belfield because the establishment wanted Belfield to go away quietly. He was talking about topics they didn’t want him to discuss, such as Black Lives Matter (“BLM”) “buying large mansions (“BLM”).” But he refused.
#2 News of Week
The Canadian government faced online backlash after posting an image of the Canadian flag modified in Pride colours, triggering a community note that pointed out the image violated official flag guidelines. Shortly after, the image was flagged with a community note pointing out that the Government of Canada’s own website states the national flag “should not be written on or marked in any way, nor be covered by other objects.” The rules also state that the Canadian flag “must not be modified.” https://rumble.com/v6tqt7x-we-are-canada-a-journey-through-courage-crisis-and-the-call-to-rise.html

What Our Logo Means
The logo for Manitoba Stronger Together incorporates elements that symbolize unity, community, and the strength of the bison.
Bison Icon: Is a silhouette of a stylized representation of a bison, symbolizing strength, resilience, and unity. The bison is depicted in a side stance, representing progress and moving together as a community.
The vertical stripes: represent that the movement includes all people from all walks of life, all beliefs and all political affiliations.
The Horizontal Connecting Lines: across the bison represent the connections and interdependence of community members, emphasizing the concept of being stronger together.
Blue Tones: The blue in the logo design represents growth, harmony, and the natural beauty of Manitoba's landscapes.
Dynamic Font: We choose a strong and modern bold font for the organization's name "Manitoba Stronger Together" to convey a sense of confidence and forward-thinking.
Let us continue to unite, ignite our passions, and work towards building a stronger and united Manitoba. Together, we will shape the future we want and deserve.
Keep an eye out for our next meeting announcement, and let us walk this transformative journey as one!
